The Area around Inlet and Old Forge

Rent a beautiful Adirondack Estate on  7th Lake near Inlet, New York

O-Kwa-Ri-Ga is ideally located only a 5-hour drive from New York City and Boston, and only a 4-hour drive from Buffalo.  It’s a great place that can be rented to groups as small as a family or several couples to as large as a family reunion with comfortable sleeping for up to 18 people.

O-Kwa-Riga is situated on the eastern side of Hamilton County in the charming town of Inlet.  Inlet sits on the east end of Fourth Lake and has several restaurants, bars, and stores.  It is about 10 miles from the larger town of Old Forge.  However, while O-Kwa-Ri-Ga itself is close to plenty of commerce when you need it, it is also on the edge of the heart of the Adirondack wilderness.  Two facts about Hamilton County tell the story.  First, it has the second lowest population density of any county in America east of the Mississippi River.  Second, there is not a single traffic light in all of Hamilton County.  If you want night life, it's there, but if you choose solitude, you can surely find it at O-kwa-Ri-Ga!

O-Kwa-Ri-Ga sits on the north shore of 7th Lake in the Adirondack's Fulton Chain of Lakes.  7th Lake is the second largest lake in the chain making it ideal for boating, fishing, and all forms of water recreation.  However, it doesn't have the heavy boating traffic that most of the other lakes have, offering a much greater sense of privacy and tranquility.  Also, since O-Kwa-Ri-Ga sits on the north shore of 7th Lake, the docks and lakeside recreation can take advantage of the southern exposure sun almost all day long!

The Camp is walking distance, about a mile, from the heart of Inlet, New York, a charming little Adirondack town with plenty of shops and restaurants.  And, it’s only a fifteen minute drive from Old Forge, an historic town that has been around since the early 1800s.  Over the years, Old Forge has played many roles in the area, and today, it combines its rustic Adirondack character with shops, restaurants, and even amusement parks, making it a great for a serene getaway as well as a fun family vacation!

Getting there is easy.  You can fly into Syracuse, Albany, or Rochester and it's about a two hour drive.
