What to bring and what is there
We wanted to let you know what you might need to pack and what you should a have available upon arrival to CAMP O-Kwa-Ri-Ga.
MAIN HOUSE:
The upstairs bedrooms are equipped with one double-sized bed, three queen size beds, and two sets of twin beds. Six bedrooms on the second floor total. There is one large bathroom upstairs.
The master bedroom on the first floor has a king-sized bed. There is a full bathroom off the master bedroom, by the kitchen.
The beds all have mattress pads, pillows, a blanket, and a comforter bedspread. You should bring sheets and pillowcases for each of them. (Unless you are requesting linen service).
CABIN:
The master bedroom upstairs has a king size bed and full bath.
The downstairs bedroom has a king size bed and full bath. The family room downstairs has a trundle bed with two single mattresses that can be placed side by side, (to make a king) sharing the full bath with the downstairs bedroom. There are ample closets for all three sleeping areas.
The bathrooms have the toilet paper supplied, so all you need is your bar soap, shampoo, towels, and washcloths.
The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, and utensils. There are drip coffee makers and a coffee grinder. We supply the coffee filters. We also supply paper towels, and napkins in the kitchens, along with dish detergent and dishwasher detergent. We supply dishtowels and dish cloths.
Other things to note
There is also a supply of plastic wrap, plastic bags, and aluminum foil.
We supply clear garbage bags for the wastebasket and recyclables container in the kitchens.
There are large garbage cans in the kitchens, along with three containers for sorting the recyclables.
The town recycles all newspapers, glass containers, metal containers, and plastic containers with a one or two recycle code. You can’t put them in the regular garbage, and they need to be rinsed out so there’s no food in them.
You are responsible for taking your garbage and recyclables to the Town Dump on Limekiln Road. It is open from 9 – 6 every day except Tuesday (every day during the summer). We have directions in the camp information book.
You can leave your soda deposit containers at the dump. They use the proceeds to help fund the local library. If you want to redeem them yourselves, you’ll need to return them to the store where you bought them.
There is a washer and dryer in both the main house and cabin.
There are propane gas grills, one at the main house and one at the cabin so you won’t need any charcoal.
We also have firewood for the fireplaces, and request you use fallen gathered wood or purchased wood for the fire pit by the main house.
There are Adirondack and lawn chairs at the docks as well as by the fire pit, and boathouse.
There is a canoe, kayak, sunfish and water bike available in the boathouse for you to enjoy. Please secure when not in use. There are life vests in the boathouse to use when boating.
Safe travels!
We would be happy to answer any questions you have before you arrive.
